Iraq redeploys troops in populated areas

Well-informed sources about the internal situation in Iraq stressed to the Kuwaiti daily al-Anba on Monday that the Iraqi authorities demanded large numbers of tents to accommodate thousands of soldiers whose centers and barracks were destroyed in the southern and central areas of Iraq during the recent Operation Desert Fox, which was carried out by the British and US troops against Iraq.
The sources added that the Iraqi military forces were redeployed in intensively populated areas in the cities of al-Basra, al-Kout, al-Najaf, Karbalaa and al-Dewaneyah.
