Yemen to Have its Own Stock Exchange

Yemen is studying the creation of a stock exchange, reported Sunday Yemeni news agency Saba. The agency said a governmental committee, chaired by Yemen's prime minister Abdulkarim Al Iryani, held a meeting to look into a study on the creation of a bourse.
Yemen has a gross domestic product of $ 10.7 billion and a population estimated in 1997 at 17 million inhabitants. Since 1995, it initiated a reform program consisting mainly of privatization, canceling subsidies and drain foreign investors.
