Sudan wants to join World Trade Organization

Through its embassy in Geneva, Sudan has sent a private memorandum concerning joining the World Trade Organization (WTO) to the organization's secretary general.
The Sudanese minister of foreign trade's advisor, Ahmed El-Tigani Saleh, said that the organization's secretary general will present the memorandum to WTO members as a preliminary step to dealing with the matter of Sudanese membership.
The memorandum contains information on the Sudanese national economy, comprehensive economic strategy, foreign trade, statistics on trade, balance of payments and agriculture production.
