Arab Maghreb Union chief meets senior Arab League official

Secretary General of the Arab Maghreb Union (UMA), Mohamed Amamou, conferred Wednesday here with Arab League Secretary General Assistant, Noureddine Hachad, on cooperation prospects between the two Arab bodies to enhance Inter-Arab solidarity and unity.
The two sides also reviewed latest developments on the international scenes and stressed the need to coordinate strategies to enable the Arab nation counter upcoming globalization challenges.
The Arab Maghreb Union was set up in 1989 by Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya and Mauritania. With its secretariat general based in Rabat, the union seeks to enhance coordination and economic complementarity between the five Maghreban countries to face the challenges of other regional groupings.
