152 billion pounds in taxes paid by Egyptians over 60 years

The most recent statistics issued by the Egyptian tax service revealed that Egyptians have paid 152,001,097,407 pounds since the establishment of the service in 1938.
The statistics said that the first amount collected by the service in the fiscal year 1938-1939 was only 841,213 pounds and that the taxes did not exceed one billion until 1981 - 1982 when it reached 1,720,041,995 pounds.
The total topped 10 billion pounds in the fiscal year 1991-1992, when it reached 11.842 billion pounds.
