Iraq, Politics, 12/17/1998
An Iraqi Kurdish official told ArabicNews.com that the coming days will witness intensive meetings in northern Iraq to implement the agreements upon which the two Kurdish main parties have agreed abroad. The official pointed out that after Jalal Talibani, leader of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, returned to northern Iraq last week, the PUK presented its monthly balance sheet, hoping that the Kurdistan Democratic Party could assume the supervision of taxes on borders with Turkey.
