Two Muslim Brotherhood members released in Egypt
Egypt, Judicial, 12/17/1998
The Egyptian state's supreme security court has released two persons who were arrested two weeks earlier on charges of being members of the Muslim Brotherhood group.
During the investigation, the two persons denied accusations that they were involved in setting up an organization for the Muslim Brotherhood in Bani Suwayf province. The court decided to free them after they pledged not to join any such groups.
In another development, Cairo Criminal Court sentenced two police officers to a three-year prison sentence and dismissed them from their posts, after they were convicted, along with another three citizens of stealing gold worth 350,000 Egyptian pounds.
