Israel prevented from participating in Amman tourism conference

Representatives of local councils in Israel decided not to take part in conference concerned with political affairs, to be held in the Jordan. Representatives from all parts of the world are taking part in the conference.
Israeli Army radio said that Israel received an invitation to take part in the conference and agreed to take part. The radio added that Israeli canceled its participation after chairman of the conference, who is of Syrian origin, threatened to abrogate the conference or to foil it if Israel takes part.
The radio report added that Israel decided to abrogate its participation after it became sure that the chairman of the conference intended to carry out his threats.
