UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan's spokesman yesterday stated that Annan has not offered mediation between the United Arab Emirates and Iran in the two countries' dispute over sovereignty over three Gulf islands, Greater and Lesser Tunb and Abu Mousa. UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan yesterday approved the food redistribution plan submitted by Iraq on November 28 within the oil-for-food agreement. $1.056 billion is to be used to buy food within the humanitarian program for Iraq, out of a total $2.746 billion.
