Islamic Parliamentary Union to be based in Rabat

Islamic countries have unanimously selected Rabat to host the headquarters of the Islamic Parliamentary Union which will hold its general assembly next week in Teheran, said a Kuwaiti legislator.
Mubarak Al-Khorainaj, head of a committee at the Kuwaiti parliament said the reply of Moroccan authorities and the approval of King Hassan II are expected in a preparatory meeting to be held next week in Tehran, MAP reported.
He added that the chairman of the Arab parliamentary union was informed of the choice of Rabat to inform the speaker of the Moroccan house of representatives (lower chamber of the parliament).
