Saudi Arabia releases sister of Muhammad al-Masaari
Saudi Arabia, Politics, 12/11/1998

The Saudi authorities on Tuesday released the sister of the Saudi opposition leader Muhammad al-Masaari, who was arrested at the end of November.

A statement released by the "Islamic Information Monitor," which takes London as a headquarters, said that on Tuesday Suha Bin Abdul Ghani al-Masaari (33), was arrested immediately upon her arrival on November 30 at Jeddah International Airport coming from London.

The "al-Marsad" (Monitor), which is close to the Islamic sources, said that Suha al-Masaari returned to the house of her family after being arrested for one week.

Muhammad al-Masaari has been living in London since 1994. He presided over the committee in charge of defending legal rights. The al-Marsad said that Suha al-Masaari was immediately taken into custody in one of Riyadh's prisons, and "she is not involved in any crime."
