Syrian radio program wins UN prize

The Syrian radio program "Population Causes," on Damascus Radio won second prize as the best radio program on " teenagers, population and development" in a competition recently organized by the Arab department at the UN information bureau.
The program is prepared by Muwaffaq Dugha and Thana al-Abbas of Damascus Radio. It has been broadcast for two years at 9:30 p.m. (Damascus time) every Saturday. First prize went to Mishwar al-Zaheira (Afternoon Walk) from Bahrain Radio, while third prize was awarded to Oman Radio's "Health for All" program.
Appreciation certificates were awarded by the arbitration committee to five programs from the radios of Jordan, Sudan, Libya, Egypt and Morocco." Several programs on population issues from Syria, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Egypt, Sudan, Jordan, Lebanon, Yemen, Bahrain, the UAE, Qatar, Oman, Mauritania and Palestine took part in the competition.
