Israeli nuclear waste shipped to Mauritania, opposition leader
Mauritania-Israel, Politics, 11/26/1998
A Mauritanian opposition leader announced on Wednesday that planes loaded with Israeli nuclear wastes had landed in the Tidjika airport in north-central Mauritania.
The announcement was made by Ahmed Ould Daddah, president of the "Union des Forces Democratiques ere Nouvelle," the major opposition party in Mauritania, at a news conference.
Ould Daddah said the planes had actually landed in the Tidjika airport over the past days. He also confirmed that ships loaded with Israeli waste anchored in the port of Nouadhibou, Mauritania's economic capital, a few months ago.
