Socialist association backs Morocco's alternation program
Morocco, Politics, 11/25/1998

The council of the international socialist association, which wound up works here on Tuesday, expressed backing to the program of the Moroccan socialist-led government.

The council called on the governments of the European Union and the Mediterranean countries to respect the commitments they made with Morocco.

In a declaration adopted at the end of its proceedings, the council said it "fully backs the program of the Youssoufi government, which affirms commitment to deepen the democratic process and consolidate the rule of law, struggle against unemployment and promote the citizens living standards."

Moroccan Prime Minister, Abderrahmane Youssoufi, attended the Geneva meeting in his capacity as first secretary of the Socialist Union of Popular Forces.
