Cairo hosts Awqaf and Arab Islamic affairs ministers meeting

Works of the fifth executive council for the Islamic affairs and al-Awqaf ministers started in Cairo on Tuesday in the presence of al-Awqaf (Islamic Trust) ministers from Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Jordan, Indonesia, Morocco, Pakistan, Gambia, Kuwait, and Egypt as well as several ambassadors concerned.

In a speech he delivered at the conference's opening session, Imam of al-Azhar mosque, Sayed Tantawi, called for intensifying the efforts of all Islamic states to confront various challenges imposed on the Islamic states.

Egyptian al-Awqaf Minister Mahmoud Hamdi Zaqzouq called in a speech he delivered for preserving the Islamic heritage treasures and deepening the spirit of amity and fraternity between the Islamic people on the ground of " tolerance and dissemination of noble values."
