Kuwaiti president receives Gulf states' secretary general
Gulf-Kuwait, Politics, 11/24/1998

Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Jaber al-Ahmad al-Sabah on Monday in Kuwait received the secretary general of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Sheikh Jamil al-Hujeilan.

Talks during the meeting dealt with issues debated on the agenda of the GCC higher council's 19th session.

Sheikh Hujeilan's visit to Kuwait falls in the course of his tour of leaders of the GCC's member states prior to convening the GCC's 19th summit to be held in Abu Dhabi at the beginning of December.

Hujeilan said that the summit's agenda will include economic issues and political subjects.

Moreover he expressed his hope that the crisis between Iraq and the United Nations will not arise once again in the summit, confirming that this crisis does not serve the interests of any Arab state, including Iraq, or the stability of the region.
