Moussa: Egypt with Iraqi people, Iran: no help in toppling Hussein
Egypt-Iraq, Politics, 11/23/1998
Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa stated at his arrival in Kuwait yesterday to attend the meeting of the Kuwaiti - Egyptian higher committee that Egypt hopes to terminate the current crisis between Iraq and UN because it cares about the Iraqi people and Iraq's territorial integrity.
Moussa stated in Muscat two days ago that Iran is a part of the Middle East and it is for the good of the whole region to establish positive relations between the Arabs and Iran and to solve the current problems between the two parties.
Meanwhile, Iran announced yesterday that it will never cooperate with the US to topple Iraqi President Saddam Hussein.
Iran accused the US of deliberately ignoring a resolution to the Iraqi case to serve its interests, emphasizing that the Iraqi people should be left alone to decide their destiny.
The commander of the naval forces of the Iranian Army and leader of the evolutionary Guard asserted that, "The American forces are provoking our forces all through the last month."
Iran will conduct large maneuvers called "The Strike" in Hormuz strait and the Gulf of Oman on December 4.
