Trade cooperation accord signed
Morocco-Chile, Economics, 11/20/1998

The Moroccan and Chilean centers for exports promotion have concluded recently a cooperation accord meant to bolster trade exchanges between the two countries, a statement by the Chilean embassy in Rabat said.

The accord was signed last October 22 on the sidelines of the second world conference of trade promotion organizations held in the Chilean capital, Santiago.

The statement stressed the importance of the accord especially as a Chilean trade mission will be dedicated in Casablanca next December 1st.

According to available figures, in 1977, Chile ranked 13th among Morocco's partners from the American continent with imports worth 42.58 million dirhams (USD 1 = 9.2 DH) and exports worth 7.8 million DH.

Morocco's major imports from Chile are made up of wood, natural and chemical fertilizers, saws, and squaring tools while imports to Chile consist of canned fish and various products.
