Arab parliaments secretary generals start meeting in Cairo

The first meeting of secretary generals of Arab parliaments opened in Cairo on Wednesday to examine ways to enhance coordination and cooperation among Arab legislative institutions.

The two-day meeting is discussing means of coordinating cooperation between the secretariat generals of Arab parliaments and a set of issues related to the financial monitoring of arab parliaments.

Speaker of the Egyptian parliament and chairman of the Arab parliamentary union, Fathi Sourour, urged in an opening speech secretary-generals of Arab parliaments to set up technical bureau to supply MPs with the necessary data for fulfilling their tasks.

Morocco is represented in the meeting by secretary general of the House of representatives (lower house), Rachid Idrissi Kaitouni.
