Garang rescued from assassination attempt in Kenya

Kenyan sources revealed yesterday that the leader of the southern Sudanese rebels, John Garang was exposed to an assassination attempt at his house in Nairobi on Saturday.
The sources confirmed that Garang and his family were rescued from an armed attack launched by 11 fighters from the followers of General Carbino Paul, another rebel leader in south Sudan.
The Kenyan police and Garang's guards were able to kill one of the attackers while two others were arrested and the rest escaped.
