Iraq-UN, Politics, 11/18/1998
UNSCOM weapons inspectors affiliated to the United Nations in Iraq are beginning their first inspections since their return to Iraq, as a convoy comprising 10 trucks carrying international inspectors was seen moving toward Iraqi sites.
The inspectors, who began their routine tour of several sites, said there are a number of different subjects that have to be investigated.
Meanwhile, the head of the Iraqi chemical weapons program, General Adel El-Saadi said that the government is ready to discuss the subject of a confidential document that claimed to include the details of the Iraqi chemical weapons program, yet he referred to the probability of refusing to deliver parts of this document for security reasons.
