Arab League to support Granada school in Spain

The Secretary General of the Arab League, Esmat Abdul Meguid, has called upon all Arab states to fund a sum of US $3 million already approved by the AL council last September in support of the Arab-European school in Granada, Spain.
During a meeting of the AL's permanent representatives on Tuesday, Abdul Meguid added that the school is threatened to be closed down because the Arab side did not fulfill its financial payments. The Spanish government paid its share of the sum, estimated at US $10 million, and the European Union EU paid the same contribution of US $10 million.
In 1984, the European parliament proposed the Arab -European league which Spain had approved and nominated Granada as a headquarters.
