Israel makes contacts to resume negotiations with Syria

Labor Party member of the Israeli Knesset of the Ephraim Sneh said that he has information stating that during the current month Israel made contacts "in order to resume negotiations with Syria." Israeli Army Radio quoted Sneh as saying that Syrian President Hafez al-Assad is interested in resuming the negotiations, adding that after the Wye Plantation agreement, "The Syrians became more concerned with giving the US new authorization to proceed toward resuming the negotiations."
