A Moroccan wins 1st prize at Koran memorizing contest

A Moroccan won the 1st prize of the 20th international contest of the Koran memorizing and recitation held in Mekka, Saudi Arabia. Mustapha Abdessalam won the 1st prize of the Koran memorizing and recitation category before two Egyptians, a Nigerian, a Syrian and a Bangladeshi.
The 1st prize of four other categories went to two Saudis and a Nigerian.
Some 191 persons from 92 countries, including 4 Moroccans, participated in the contest. The prizes awarded by the contest are globally worth 888,000 Saudi rials.
