Military cooperation between Iran, Oman

The governments of Iran and Oman have agreed to cooperate in the military arena, especially the exchange of military experts to supervise their maneuvers.

The Iranian news agency said that the agreement was signed at the conclusion of the visit made by Oman's Minister of State for Defense Affairs Bader Bin Saud Bin Hareb al-Bour Saeedi to Iran and his talks and his talks with Iranian Defense Minister Admiral Ali Shamkhani.

The two governments also decided to set up "a friendship military committee" to "strengthen bilateral cooperation" in the area of defense.

Shamkhani stressed that an Omani military team will "shortly" visit Iran to carry out the agreements signed between the two countries. He expressed hope that Iranian - Omani military cooperation will be an example to be followed by other countries in the region.
