British official in Gulf to seek aproval for any coming strike against Iraq
Iraq-Gulf-UK, Politics, 11/16/1998

British Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Derrick Fatchett will arrive tomorrow in Oman a brief visit, during which he will meet with Sultan Qaboos Bin Said.

During the meeting, Fatchett will discuss the developments of the crisis between Iraq and the UN within the possibility of directing a military strike against Iraq should the crisis continue.

Gulf sources told ArabicNews.com that the British official will try to obtain the approval of the Gulf states to direct a military strike at Iraq in the future which the Gulf states would either join or support and not oppose in public as they did during the last crisis.
