Egyptian opposition parties threaten to strike American interests
Egypt-Iraq-USA, Politics, 11/16/1998

Egyptian opposition forces and parties directed a strongly-worded communique to the US government, in which they equated Iraqi security with the security of American interests.

The parties called on the US to put an end to agressions claiming to protect the resolutions of the international community.

Meanwhile, US ambassador Daniel Kurtzer received a communique from leaders of Egyptian opposition, including the signatures of the El-Nasery assemblage and labor parties' leaders and representatives of the Muslim Brotherhood and prohibited Shiite groups.

The communique said that the US government has passed all limits, traditions and laws. They warned that the US is about to destroy Iraq's security, and threatened US interests if the US strikes at Iraq.
