Saudi Arabia-Iraq, Politics, 11/14/1998
A Saudi official source said today in Riyadh that Saudi Arabia will give no military facilitation for the American troops if they attack Iraq, SANA reported.
AFP quoted the same source as saying that the US troops will not receive any facilitation on the Saudi territories and no American or non-American attacks will be launched from Saudi Arabia. The source added "The US understand this Saudi stand."
The source added that the US, British and French planes which use "al khataj" base to impose honoring the air embargo over Southern Iraq will keep on carrying out its set missions according to UN resolutions.
Worthy mentioning the US owns some 100 planes at the "Prince Sultan" air base, Southern Riyadh. It is used in carrying out flights to ensure compliance of the air embargo imposed on Southern Iraq.
