Syrian-Jordanian committee to discuss al-Wahdah dam
Jordan-Syria, Economics, 11/13/1998

Jordanian governmental sources said on Thursday that the Jordanian-Syrian joint committee will hold a meeting before the end of the current month in Amman to continue discussions on al-Wahdah (unity) dam project.

The sources added that the committee will discuss the economic figures for the project, its expected costs, laying down a future plan as well as the quality of al-Yarmouk river waters.

Earlier both Jordan and Syria signed minutes of meeting of implementing al-Wahdah dam project during last May in Damascus. The project is estimated to be completed at a cost of $400 million. It was agreed to contact Arab and foreign funds to finance the implementation of the dam.
