Spain funds Moroccan water project

Spain agreed Tuesday to grant Morocco about $700,000 to enable the Kingdom carry out a drinking water project in the Northern region. The assistance will also serve to protect hydraulic resources and improve water and sewage networks.
Spain is Morocco's major European partner after France. The European Union, which is linked with Morocco with an association accord, decided lately to prop up Morocco's sustained efforts to promote the northern zones, upgrade the inhabitants living conditions and endow them with all necessary basic infrastructures.
