Egypt called upon to mediate between Syria and Jordan
It added that during Foreign Minister Moussa's meeting with the Jordanian Crown Prince Hassan, Moussa proposed the Egyptian mediation and the Jordanian crown prince limited his answer by saying "we leave this matter to the assessment of President Mubarak." Kofi Annan in Morocco over Sahara Issue

Saudi Minister of Interior Prince Nayef Bin Abdul Aziz has asserted that Syria is an Arab state which concerns all Arabs in all matters. In a statement to the Kuwaiti daily al-Rai al-Am issued on Saturday the Saudi minister hoped that disputes between Syria and Turkey had been terminated and called for settling their differences by means of dialogue. He said that persons "behind al-Khobar explosions are Saudis," but he did not deny foreign hands in the said explosion. He added that Iranian-Saudi relations should be good, especially that "Iran is a neighboring Muslim state and the two countries share common interests."
