Israel continues aggressions on Lebanon

Lebanese national resistance forces on Sunday attacked a joint Lahd-Israeli military position in Shoya town in Hasbaya district in the occupied part of South Lebanon.

In a statement, the resistance said one of its groups rocketed and machine- gunned the position. The statement added a 20-minute clash erupted between the two sides and the Lebanese fighters were able to directly hit the observation post and the dormitories.

Meantime, the Israeli occupation troops bombarded from their position in Jezzine the towns of Deydoun, and Roum and Sidon region in the South. The shelling, the first of its kind to be used since the April 1996 aggression, inflicted damages on houses and civilians installations. Earlier, in the day, the Israeli artillery shelled several villages in the Western Bekaa.

The shelling was accompanied by heavy-machine gun shots fired by the Israeli troops against the front lines and the areas which came under shelling.

Meanwhile, Israeli war-planes raided the area between the flow of the Hasbani river and the outskirts of Kawkaba town in Western Bekaa. Furthermore, the Israeli gun-boats fired machine-gun shots against fishermen off the coasts of Tyre, Ras al-Ein and Rashedeyeh.

On Saturday, the Israeli occupation forces continued to carry out acts of aggression and arbitrary measures in the occupied part of South Lebanon. Lebanese security sources said that Israeli intelligence soldiers on Saturday evening surrounded the towns of Bint Jbeil, Houla, Markaba, Tallouse and Teiri and stormed citizens homes and arrested 77 persons, including four who belong to the pro-Israeli Lahd's militias.

The sources added that the Israeli artillery positioned in Teir harfa and Rejmin pounded on Saturday noon the surroundings of Majdal Zoune, Zibqin, Beyout al-Sayyed, Sawannah, Marbaa in the western sector of South Lebanon. In retaliation, the Lebanese national resistance fighters attacked on Saturday morning an Israeli position in Baraachit town, using rockets and machine-gun fires. Another Lebanese national resistance group attacked three Israeli positions in Beafourt, Sweida and Dabshe. Lebanese resistance sources said "the positions were directly hit."
