Algerian salvation front criticizes postponement of presidential elections
Algeria, Politics, 11/6/1998
The al-Rabat news bulletin close to the Algerian Islamic Salvation Front criticized the announcement made by Algerian President Liamine Zeroual last Saturday postponing the Presidential elections from next February until April.
The bulletin, which is published in Bonn, said, "Two additional months to organize the Presidential elections will be in vain, before starting to purify the political situation as well as correcting the economic position of the devastated country, as a result of corruption."
The bulletin explained that by this postponement President Zeroual showed that he is "a mere machine that can be moved in compliance with the needs of the current necessities."
