Tunisia expects 100,000 tons of dates

It is expected that the Tunisian date crop could exceed 150,000 tons in the current season, in comparison to 95,000 tons last year, which indicates that it will reach a record high.
The volume of crops in the southern governorate of Kebili, which is the main center for dates production, is 70,000 tons in comparison to 56,000 tons last year, an increase of more than 20%.
Meanwhile experts related the increase of crops to temperature factors and the introduction of new oases into development and protection campaigns.
Tunisia exported 25,000 tons of dates at last year, and its is expected that the volume of exports for the current year could exceed 30,000 tons.
