The Egyptian police said they killed two members of extremist Islamic groups during clashes that took place yesterday in Minya governorate in southeastern Egypt. The clashes broke out when the Egyptian forces attacked a suspected hiding spot for Islamists in the Metowi region. Egyptian police sources said that two of its members were injured seriously in the incident, the first of of its kind since July.

President of Kuwait Sheikh Jaber al-Ahmad al-Sabah enacted a decree on Monday providing for accepting the resignation of Kuwaiti Deputy Premier and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Nasser al-Rawdan.
