Hariri's visit to Damascus focused on strengthening the united Syrian - Lebanese position

A correspondent for al-Sharq Radio in Damascus reported that Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri on Monday completed the consultations he started on Sunday in Damascus with Syrian Vice President Abdul Halim Khaddam in meetings held on Monday morning and afternoon following the convening of the Syrian-Lebanese ministerial committee.
The correspondent added that according to well-informed sources, the consultations dealt with all matters of concern to the two countries, developments in the region and the consequences of the recent Israeli - Palestinian agreement (Wye Plantation) on the Middle East peace process.
He added that consultations also dealt with means of strengthening the united Syrian - Lebanese position so it can withstand all challenges as well as the efforts exerted to strengthen the Arab position, foremost being the efforts in the context of which Sunday's meeting in Sharm El-Sheikh was made between Presidents al-Assad and Mubarak.
