Campaign to fight violence against women next November
Morocco, Culture, 10/29/1998

Morocco will launch at the end of November a nationwide campaign to fight violence against women, the Moroccan secretary of state for social protection, family and childhood announced.

Said Saadi told the Moroccan television channel 2M that the amendment of the Moudawana (personal statute code) and women's participation in the management of public affairs appear on top of the Socialist-led government's concerns.

Touching on the issue of abandoned children, the official said a law is under scrutiny to ease adoption procedures and find families for these children.
