Gulf consultative front to hold first meeting in Kuwait

Gulf sources confirmed that the Gulf consultative front, made up of 30 representatives of the six Gulf Cooperation Council member states, is to convene its first meeting in Kuwait on November 7.

The sources expected that the head of this front and his deputy will be chosen, after the Gulf states agreed upon forming the front during a meeting held in Qatar.

Front member Ahmed Abdul Aziz al-Kawari said that the first meeting the front will hold in Kuwait will take place according to protocol and will choose the head of the front and his deputy. He said the head will be from the country chairing the Gulf Cooperation Council and the headquarters of the front will also be located in the country of the presidency.

Al-Kawari said that the front is the core of people's participation in decision-making in the Gulf Cooperation Council states.
