Egypt offers mediation between Syria and Jordan

Arab diplomatic sources confirmed that Egypt is exerting efforts terminate the dispute between Syria and Jordan.
A Jordanian official informed the Egyptian Foreign Ministry of his country's opposition to the statements made by Syrian Minister of Defense Mustafa Tlass, who accused Jordan of the not participating in the war of 1973 as well as of obstructing Saudi forces from joining the war along the Syrian front.
Tlass also accused the leadership in Jordan of trying to Judaize the Jordanians, saying that Jordan will turn into a Palestinian state.
Jordan escalated its criticism of Syria in a strongly-worded message that was delivered to the charge d'affairs at the Syrian embassy in Amman.
Jordan also demanded the release of Jordanian citizens who it said are detained in Syrian prisons without trial.
