German ambassador: Increasing investment in Egypt is subject to peace process

Peter Dingens, the German ambassador in Cairo, stated that the role of the Egyptian and German sectors in establishing new projects that increase the scope of investment and economic cooperation between Egypt and Europe is subject to the Middle East peace process' stability.
Dingens during an address yesterday before a symposium spoke of the importance of the Egyptian market as being among the largest commercial markets in the Middle East and pointed to its importance due to its geographic location.
A delegation of 19 German companies working in different industrial fields with the chairmanship of Walter Doring, the minister of economy in the German province of Baden-Wuerttemberg, participated in the symposium.
Dingens added that exports from Baden-Wuerttemberg state reached 520 million marks last year.
He added that the German delegation will focus on the activities of medium-sized industries working in high technology to convey the German experience to the Egyptian producers.
