Islamic group in Egypt denies relations with Bin Laden

The Islamic Group in Egypt, considered to be the main armed extremist organization in the country, denied any sort of relations with the organization established last February by Saudi billionaire Osama Bin Laden.
A statement by the Islamic Group's military commander, Refa Taha, published on the group's Internet site comments that the group did not receive projects relating to an "international front to counter the US and its existence in the region."
Taha added, "We are not a side in any front of the sort."
Experts in the Islamic movement's affairs said that "The International Islamic Front for resisting the crusaders and the Jews" was established in February 1998 in a meeting held in Peshawar.
It is led by Osama Bin Laden, who is accused of planning the attacks against the US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania.
