Turkish exporters: Syrian disputes do not affect our relations with Arab states

The chairman of the Turkish Exporters' Union, Kamal Orzman, in press declarations today to El-Wafd newspaper, denied that the political disputes between Turkey and Syria have affected trade relations with Arab states, pointing out that political disputes between Egyptian and Iran have never obstructed the establishment of trade relations between the two countries.

He also said that if Israel constitutes the political partner to Turkey in the region, Egypt forms Turkey's economic partner, due to Egypt's high economic position among the Arab states.

He added said that signing political or commercial agreements with Israel does not mean hostility against the Arab states, especially as Egypt and many Arab states have signed peace agreements with Israel.

Orzman also referred to the Egyptian trade balance with Turkey, which achieved a surplus amounting to $21.989 million during the period from January to June of the current year, where the volume of trade exchange between the two countries amounted to $295.237 million during the first half of the current year in return for $242.982 million over the same period of last year.
