Cyprus' foreign minister to Cairo tomorrow

The foreign minister of Cyprus, Ioannis Kasoulides, is to arrive in Cairo tomorrow carrying a communique from Cyprus' President Glafcos Clerides to President Mubarak, concerning bilateral relations, and a number of international and regional issues within the consultations between the two countries.

The communique also tackles methods of enhancing and upgrading bilateral relations, and Mubarak's efforts to contain the Turkish - Syrian crisis, developments in the Middle East peace process and cooperation in combating terrorism.

The communique deals with the situation of the issue of Cyprus within developments in East Europe and the Mediterranean, the repercussions of the Russian deal of S-300 missiles, and the efforts exerted to settle the issue through the decisions of international legitimacy supported by Egypt, and dealt with the Turkish presence in the northern part of the island as occupation.
