Syria-Turkey, Politics, 10/19/1998
A Radio Monte Carlo correspondent in Istanbul quoted sources at the Turkish Foreign Ministry as saying that the invitation of the world media to visit the Lebanese al-Bekaa plain is not of concern to Ankara, which will depend on reports by its intelligence to make sure that Syria has dealt with the issue of giving up support to the Kurdistani Workers Party.
The correspondent added that, "It is expected that the Turkish intelligence will submit a full report about this issue to Turkish President Suleiman Demirel next Wednesday."
The correspondent also said that the Turkish Foreign Ministry expects Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharazi to visit Ankara again next Wednesday or Thursday.
