60 Egyptian companies take part in Baghdad international fair
Egypt-Iraq, Economics, 10/15/1998

The manager of Egyptian Trade Center in Baghdad, Awni Hasem, said that 60 Egyptian companies are to take part in the international fair of Baghdad, beginning on November 1.

Hasem also said a large delegation from the Egyptian Holding Company for Food Industries under the chairmanship of Adel El-Shahawi, the head of the Arab Union of Food Industries, will participate in the inauguration of the fair. The delegation will include eight leaders of Egyptian companies working in the fields of oil, soap, cleaners and sugar, as well as pharmaceutical companies.

The delegation will hold a number of discussions and meetings with Iraqi businessmen and ministers to discuss the possibility of ratifying new contracts within the oil-for-food program.

The Egyptian Holding Company for Food Industries will participate with a large area in the fair. It is the largest Egyptian company to obtain Iraqi contracts since December 1994.
