US companies renew investments in Lebanon

US ambassador in Lebanon David Satterfield confirmed that there is a radical change in his country's policy toward Lebanon, which encourages new investments by US companies in Lebanon, after the 1997 lifting of the US ban on travel by US citizens to Lebanon.
While endorsing the cooperation agreement between Lebanon and the US Trade and Development Agency, the ambassador said that the US is ready to cooperate with Lebanon, adding that the current stop which is imposed on direct air links between Lebanon and the US is mainly in place for security, not political, reasons.
