Training session on tapestry modernization held in Fez

Scores of tapestry makers are currently attending a training session on the modernization of their activity.
The session is held part of cooperation between the UNESCO and the Rabat-Based ISESCO (Islamic educational, scientific and cultural organization), in coordination with the international center for handicraft promotion, based in Fez, central Morocco.
Women specialized in this handicraft trade from Chad, Jordan, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco and Niger are participating in the training session that is part of the UNESCO-sponsored program "productive women".
The program aims at improving professional women's participation in the development process of islamic societies.
