Sudan presents complaint to UN Security Council against Eritrea and Uganda
Sudan, Politics, 10/7/1998

Sudan announced that it complained to the United Nations Security Council of an attack carried out by Ugandan and Eritrean forces taking place last month in southern Sudan.

Sudanese Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Hussein Abdin said the Ugandan - Eritrean attack violated Sudan's sovereignty and threatened its territorial integrity, calling it an obvious violation of the United Nations charter.

Uganda and Eritrea have denied that they were involved in attacks on Sudan.

Abdin said that Sudan presented a similar complaint to the Arab League, the Organization of African Unity, the Organization of the Islamic Conference, and to the Non-Aligned Movement .

Sudan accused Uganda and Eritrea of implementing a military operation in Sharq El-Eestowaia state in southern Sudan on September 14.
