Mubarak: 10 percent Israeli withdrawal is unclear to Egypt and to Arafat
Egypt, Politics, 10/6/1998

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak told yesterday the London-based al-Hayat on the 25th anniversary of the October War that the peace process has not moved forward since 1996.

Mubarak accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of being the real force obstructing the peace process ever since he assumed power in Tel Aviv, adding, the Israeli PM enforced only two items out of the six comprising the Galilee agreement.

Mubarak added that the final preliminary agreement for second-phase Israeli withdrawal from 10% of the West Bank does not make anything specific for Egypt or for Palestinian President Yasser Arafat, adding this needs many American explanations.

Mubarak said there is no need to convene an international conference for peace if the US initiative for reactivating the peace process succeeds.
