Eight French war vessels for Kuwait

Commander of the French naval forces in the Indian Ocean has revealed a deal to sell eight French war ships to Kuwaiti naval forces. The war ships are to arrive in Kuwait in January 1999.
In a press conference held on Saturday night on board the French frigate Lancome, which had anchored in the Kuwaiti port together with the frigate Lafayette on a five-day visit to the country, Admiral Jan Lewd Patich, announced that joint one-day naval maneuvers will be carried out by the French and Kuwaiti naval forces on Wednesday in the context of cooperation between the two countries in this area.
